It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive.

Long live Texas! (From a former Alabamian: The South shall rise again!)
And don’t worry about being too clever. You should worry about the opposite.
Take care
Brian
Thanks Brian :). The quote is from Oscar Wilde-so I can’t really take credit for that one.
Hi Kim, please don’t feel that you have to participate, but I had to share your blog with my followers. 🙂

Rob
This is my kind of challenge! I love what I love and HATE what I hate! Going to the beach tomorrow but will get to work on this soon. Thanks, Rob.
When I came across your blog the strap line did it for me straight away.
And I like the reference here on your about page to what interests us about other people.
Those conversations with strangers that begin with “so what do you do?” can go in different directions but very often the sooner they get away from ‘work’ and get around to what we do when given the choice, things usually get more interesting.
Thank you for your kind words, and I’m so happy you “got” my reference. I’ve never been a master of small talk but I love genuine conversation. We’re all sharing the same air, so we might as well get to know each other.
I loved what you, so eloquently stated about Herons on your “about me” page. We go kayaking most weekends and all I can ever stammer is “look at the dinosaur birds” as they fly overhead.
I’m glad you liked it. They’re such big ungainly things when taking of or landing but so graceful when in flight or wading.
On and since I’m not as clever as you I have a slightly different perspective on the things I say. I understand them perfectly and think they’re completely appropriate when I say or write them but sooner or later I will wonder why I thought so when they seem completely inappropriate and utterly stupid.
My “clever” quote was penned by Oscar Wilde. So much for my own cleverness.
You are not alone in the dissection of your writing. When I go back to, and scrutinize my posts, my face often reddens due to grammatical errors or thoughts that have turned into nonsensical rants.
I’m a writer; not an editor. I might add too many commas or not include enough, but if my story, as a whole, impacts someone, I’m okay with the inevitable flaws.
Showing my ignorance there!
Well said, I’ll try to be more forgiving of my own flaws. 🙂
Yep, I suspect all the genii are guilty of being fools, once.
But that aside, let’s live out this life! 🍸
Hello, I have nominated you for the creative blogger award https://krigalea.wordpress.com/2015/07/17/the-creative-blogger-award/
Thank you, and congratulations on your blog award. I truly appreciate the nomination, but I rarely participate in awards. It’s just not my “thing”.
It’s not a problem! 🙂
